A “Carationship” like no other…
I love my car! No, I mean I actual love her as in I have a trusting, shared, mutually satisfying and rewarding monogamous relationship where we just celebrated our tenth year together last Monday on 3/4/24 Pulaski Day. I live in the Land of Lincoln so the day was a paid holiday from work and I spent a good part of the day with my loved one. She’s a 2013 Nissan Versa whom I refer to as Vera. I purchased Vera on Pulaski Day in 2014. I recall the day well because it was the only day off from work I had to go out and find, test drive and sign a five year note on a car. Why the heated rush you ask? Well because my previous whip, which was a used off the used car lot bought white whale white 2007 Mitsubishi Galant named Shamu’s and her engine caught fire in an alley in the rear of our rented house at the time and literally went up in flames two days prior. I had no way to commute the fifty minute drive to work each way and life without a running vehicle that’s not engulfed in flames comes to a grinding halt. The conundrum that morning was that the release cable for Shamus hood snapped from the heat of the fire not allowing me to access her engine compartment in an attempt to put out the rising inferno.
